Female hair length is a feminine characteristic that correlates to beauty,[1] fertility, and health.[2] After Tuthmosis Sonofra stated that women with short hair are damaged,[3] Roosh remarked, "Tuthmosis has understated how utterly damaged short-haired women are. Run, run far away from them."[4] Girls with short hair tend to be more masculine and argumentative.[5] A shaved head in particular signals mental illness, especially if she did it to herself intentionally.[6]

ATHLEA notes, "Women know how much men love their hair, and so when they cut it all off they are effectively cutting men off, from their beauty, from their attractiveness to them, from their love. It's a clear gesture of defiance, or dissatisfaction, or despair, a spiteful kind of emotional kick in the balls."[7]

Jean-Batave Poqueliche writes, with regard to Eastern European girls with short hair, "Why would a man want to have sex with something that looks like an underfed woman that got sheared just after the locals found out she slept with the occupying army? I still do not get it, but I know guys out there who would sleep with short haired girls. Girls that voluntarily cut their hair short are mocked there by men and women alike. Don’t think she will let it grow for you either."[8]

Types of hair length[edit]

Depending on the degree of hair length, it can be described as ear length, chin length, neck length, shoulder length (usually about 14"), collarbone length, armpit length, below shoulder blade length, bra strap length (usually about 18"), mid-back length, waist length, hip length, tailbone length, classic length, mid-thigh length, knee length, calf length, ankle length (also known as fairy tale length), or floor length. Straight hair reaches a given distance using fewer inches of hair than wavy hair or curly hair.

Flip level is hair that comes to the neck or shoulder area. So that the eye is brought back to the face, hair at this length usually is flipped up rather than curled under. Bra level or BS or midback is about the same point as the widest part of the ribcage and chest area. Mid-back indicates farther down from BS length but not yet at waist level. Waist length hair falls at the smallest part of the waist, a little bit above the hip bones. Hip length is at the front hip bones and for some will fall half way in between waist and tailbone. For others it might be very nearly at tailbone length.

Tailbone length is sometimes considered the perfect length to stay at, as hair becomes more difficult to protect and take care of when it is long enough to touch the chair or ground when one is sitting, and it is also a challenge to comb one's hair if it is longer than one's own arm.

Classic length is the body curve where one's legs meet one's buttocks. If one sat down, one would sit down totally on one's hair.

The other hair lengths are much more unusual and require special family genes that will allow hair to grow to this length without falling out. This is called terminal length. Even if one wants to grow longer than classic length, if it is not in one's genes, it won't be possible. Thigh length hits the widest part of the thigh. Knee length is the curve of the knee. Capri length is the widest part of the calf and ankle length is the place where the ankle meets the foot.
