The removal of Steve Bannon from his National Security Council post happened shortly before the U.S. launched a Tomahawk missile strike on Syria. It led to claims that there is a rift in the West Wing, between nationalists like Bannon and globalists like top economic adviser Gary Cohn and Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner.[1][2] However, conservative bloggers Brett Stevens and Vox Day believe that the missile strike on Syria was simply a strategic decision meant to have China become involved in taming North Korea.[3][4]
